Mike Matei Discusses His Love Of Zelda And Work On Cinemassacre

Michael "Mike" Matei is an executive producer for Cinemassacre Productions. The story centers around the alleged burial of over 1 million copies of the proclaimed "worst video game of all time", E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for the Atari 2600, as The Nerd embarks on a quest to prove that there is nothing buried there after being pressured by fans to review the video game, while being pursued by federal authorities who believe he is investigating Area 51 and the crash of an unidentified flying object.

I bought the Xbox One around the time it launched and the only game that interested me at all was Dead Rising 3. I love zombie movies, so I figured I'd really it, but after playing, I found the controls to be really poor. I know James enjoys doing it because it gives him a chance to actually play some good games for a change.

The AVGN reviews Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (NES), Shaq Fu (SNES), Far Cry Vengeance (Wii), Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Wii), and Boogie (Wii). During their playthrough of Sonic '06 , Game Grumps went on an extended riff about Matei's simple style of comedy (shown below).

I get emails daily from people telling me how much they like my videos and them suggesting things they want to see me review. Mike: Jason Voorhees probably worked best technically because of how he forced the Nerd to play his game. Credit goes to: Cinemassacre, the makers of these great videos.

The AVGN plays the NES game Friday the 13th based on the horror movie. But, just like in the games that the nerd finds himself tirelessly trudging through, you'll come across many reasons to swear like a sailor. I like his movie reviews, but not his video game glitches.

Well, Zelda is my favorite video game franchise. Pretty much every major game review show online today has AVGN” to thank for establishing its format. Sweet thanks for the review Mike I didnt even know this game was out i will defiantly be playing it this weekend, love the old mega man games from NES.

I'm the editor for several Cinemassacre web series, such as Monster Madness and James & Mike Mondays. The Angry Video Game Nerd was voted Best Online Web Series in Mashable's 3rd Annual Open Web Awards on December 16, 2009. In 2013, an official video game titled Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures was announced.

The feud culminated when the Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic crossed paths in person in a video game store in Clifton, New Jersey called Digital Press. The show would later encompass reviews of gaming consoles, peripherals, and short lectures about video game history and culture.

The AVGN reviews the Sega 32X system and the games Primal Rage(Sega 32X), Doom(Sega 32X), Virtua Fighter(Sega 32X), Star Wars Arcade(Sega 32X). You should consider doing a review on Nintendo Land, Mike. While being a fan of the first two Double Dragon games, Double Dragon 3 is the one that the Nerd despises.

I do that for all 31 reviews, and then hand the Mike Matei entire thing over to James on a large hard drive. Mike Matei (b. 1980) is an actor, artist, and executive producer of Cinemassacre Productions, owned by his best friend James Rolfe , who he works with on writing, editing, and starring in a multitude of series.
